Startup Strategy Series
Commitment: Three half-day workshops, completed across one week
Investment: $3,000 $2,000 Discounted Rate
Overview
It’s often cited that 90% of startups fail, due in large part to (1) poor execution and (2) creating a product that nobody needs. Many startups skip the critical strategic steps that would improve their chances of market adoption. Noticing this, we built this series to provide our clients with a launchpad for generating traction.
Our objective is to improve your chances of success by:
Increasing your runway
Decreasing your burn rate
Improving your chances of landing additional funding
Session 1: Intro to Frameworks & Business Model Basecamp
Kick-off with an overview of the underlying frameworks we’ll be drawing from, then begin exploring the elements of your business model.
Walk away with deliverables that you can use in a fundraising pitch and as part of your day-to-day strategy:
A first draft of your Business Model Canvas
A Strategy Basecamp we’ll use to drive your discovery sessions
References for future learning
Session 2: Problem Discovery
Without meticulously unpacking your Problem/Opportunity Space, the product that you develop will be standing on a precarious foundation of risky assumptions.
We’ll cover a variety of leading methodologies and frameworks to generate a deeper understanding of the market and your users.
By the end of this session, you’ll have a strong understanding of the areas you’ll need to explore in greater depth, and deliverables you can use in presentations to defend your depth of knowledge, including:
User Personas
User Journey Map(s)
Customer Needs Hierarchy
Competitive Analysis
Session 3: Solution Discovery
With a deep understanding of your opportunity and user problems, you can now begin building and testing various elements of your solution.
Do you have the ability to test features in a low-cost, low-fidelity environment, or will immediately move features from backlog to code? Does the overall concept resonate with users? Which features will best address their needs? Are you creating a feature set that is deep & focused or broad & generalized? Which usage metrics will you measure to provide early evidence as leading indicators of success?
You’ll leave our last session with empowered solutions:
A strategy for low-cost testing, learning, and iterating
Confidence to communicate to investors your ability to spend their funds prudently with low-cost experiments that will decrease burn rate, and increase the chances of ROI
“Insert quote from either Lucas or a client about how we can help a future company find solutions quickly. The team at DPDK was consistently able to deliver outstanding proposals, with the execution to match. As one team we were able to challenge each other and keep raising the bar until the result was exceptional.”
